About Us
Brewer Educational Resources is a Texas based Minority Owned Business with offices in Arlington and McKinney, Texas. Brewer distributes, sells, and manufacturers educational toys, games, books, and customized learning kits. In addition, we provide publishing services, product development, and special project management services for government-funded agencies. Our unique combination of HUB vendor status, exclusive relationships, licensed products, and stellar customer service has contributed to its present success.
Our Story
Brewer Educational Resources was founded in 1998. Melissa Garcia Brewer started Brewer Educational Resources after working in the early childhood field as a preschool teacher. Due to her experience as a teacher and her passion for early childhood, Melissa focused her business on providing educators with quality instructional materials that would enhance their classrooms. She began her journey as a distributor of the Discovery Toys product line with the objective of providing research-based materials that enabled young children to develop language and literacy competency through a combination of play and academics. Throughout her career, Melissa continued to take an active role with her customers, attended multiple conferences, and grew her business while also raising her children as a single parent.
In 2002, Brewer developed the Head Into Literacy™ S.T.E.P. Component Kits (now called P.E.L.L. Kits). These Trainer and Classroom Kits focus on meeting the oral language, literacy and math needs of children through a series of activities that directly correlated to the former C.I.R.C.L.E. ™ Preschool Early Language and Literacy (P.E.L.L.) Teacher’s and Trainer's Manuals. Throughout the years, Brewer has continued to develop products to meet the latest research and grant specifications for our clients.
Brewer's most popular products are the Brewer School Readiness Kits and Classroom Management Kit, It's In the Box! Our School Readiness Kits have been used in research-based state projects such as the Texas Early Education Model (TEEM), Texas School Ready! (TSR) and the Pre-K Early Start Grants. Brewer is proud to be involved in the education of young children!
Brewer Educational Resources, Inc. publishes and distributes products for the early years to elementary concentrating on the tools needed to build a strong foundation for early literacy and school readiness through play and early intervention with research-based literacy materials. Additionally, products and services include product development, customized learning materials to meet the needs of the customer, book collections with English and Spanish titles, and educational products that correlate to Head Start learning domains/outcomes, early childhood curriculums, thematic units, and pre-kindergarten guidelines.
